November 29, 2011, Ladue, MO Rick Williams, owner of Ladue Pharmacy, is proud to announce that Ladue Pharmacy will remain an independent, community pharmacy, dedicated to the health and healthcare of generations of St. Louis families.

“Today my brother and Ladue Pharmacy partner Brett Williams, announced the sale of Williams Pharmacy, Clarkson Square Pharmacy and Prescription Plus to Walgreens,” said Rick Williams.  These pharmacies were part of the Williams Community Pharmacy network, along with Ladue Pharmacy.

Brett owned and operated the three pharmacies that he sold to Walgreens.  Ladue Pharmacy will remain an independent, community pharmacy, dedicated to serving the great people of this community.   Brett and Rick Williams will remain sole owners of Ladue Pharmacy and will continue to serve area families and their healthcare needs.

The pharmacy business has been in the Williams family for decades. Williams Pharmacy in University City was founded in 1952, by Rick’s father Maurice Williams, a registered pharmacist.  Rick Williams began working in his dad’s pharmacy doing just about everything except dispensing pharmaceuticals.  Rick’s four sons have worked at Ladue Pharmacy and he and his wife opened Deer Creek Coffee in 2010.  “My family and I have been committed to serving this community my entire life,” explains Williams.  “I’m proud to own and operate Ladue Pharmacy and I’m excited about the future of our business.”

Ladue Pharmacy was founded in 1957 and has served as a time-honored locally-owned pharmacy, gift shop, and post office for generations of St. Louisians. “Ladue Pharmacy has been an important part of St. Louis families for decades,” said Williams. “We’re fortunate to have developed relationships with our customers over that last 50 years that have transcended business.  Our customers have become our friends and neighbors.  We’ve watched children grow up and have children of their own.” Williams, who has worked in the pharmacy business his entire life says a major benefit of a locally-owned, independent pharmacy like Ladue Pharmacy is that they really know their customers. Williams adds, “We know their families, their joys, their sorrows.  That personal relationship enables us to better serve their healthcare needs, and we’re very proud of that.”

Ladue Pharmacy, like many independent community pharmacies offer specialty services or fill an important niche in the community. For instance, Ladue Pharmacy offers immunizations, diabetes support group, and special consultation services for seniors, house charge accounts, on-line prescription ordering, delivery services, a US Post Office, ATM, fine cosmetics, unique gifts and toys.
